During the meeting held on November 8, 2021, Commissioner Robert of the Ascension Parish Board made a motion to approve to revisit the proposal from Hartman Engineering to provide a rehabilitation plan of the retention pond located in The Shadows at Manchac subdivision. A plan was presented at the East Ascension Drainage District #1 Board of Commissioners Meeting held on January 10, 2022. The panel, minus former Chairman Dempsey Lambert and Prairieville’s Councilman Corey Orgeron who were absent, adopted the first phase of a two-phased remedy presented by Hartman Engineering.   Phase 1 is an expected cost of $501,627 to dig the drainage pipes near the entrance of the subdivision to the retention pond, and Phase 2 totals another $452,101, which is to dig the detention pond deeper so that the pipes will better drain into the pond. This cost will be paid by the Parish.  While we the Board of the HOA have not been provided the details as of yet on how soon Phase 1 will commence or last, we will keep you posted as we learn more.
